A radiologist from New York Dov Bechhofer says that MRI has proven to be a highly versatile medical imaging technique. An MRI scan may be performed to find any one of a cause of health problems which includes internal bleeding and injury, tumors, blood vessel diseases and infections.He further says that sometimes MRI Scan will be performed alongside an X-ray, CT, or ultrasound scan in order to get more information about the disease as well as where a clear picture is required.
Dov Bechhofer further says that the main use of doing an MRI scan is to uncover the damage caused by a stroke as well as it can also be used along with problems pertaining to the eyes and optic nerves and the ears and associated auditory nerves. He further added that MRI of the chest is typically used to examine the heart, its valves, and the coronary blood vessels and it can also be used to diagnose breast cancer.
